Well, it’s not the summer we thought it would be… but summer camp fun (with appropriate precautions) can still be had at the DSP!

Camp subjects change weekly, and you can register for one week or multiple!

(All four camp subjects will repeat later this summer.)

Camps are divided into two age bands: K-2nd and 3rd-5th.

Camp fee covers snacks and all camp supplies.

Campers must bring a sack lunch daily.

Cost: $175/student/camp (DSP members receive a 10% discount).

Registration online will be the only available method for Summer 2020. (NOTE: registration now allows for multiple camps to be chosen. Once you register and go to checkout for your first choice other camps will be offered and require minimal additional input as forms are carried over.)

Please allow a minimum of 48-hours notice for cancellation of day-camp registration and 1 week (7 days) for summer camp registrations.

As you can imagine camp will have to run a bit differently this season than in year’s past. Every effort will be taken to maximize your child’s well-being and safety. Noted differences include:

  • -Each camp age group is limited to only 10 campers max
  • -Each age group will be kept physically separate from each other
  • -Drop-off and pickup will occur via our entry courtyard
  • -All campers are required to wash their hands before entering the building
  • -All camp snacks will be individually wrapped/packaged
  • -Sharing of supplies (scissors, tape dispensers, etc.) will be minimized
  • -No pre or post camp care is available

June 1st-5th: Robotics Camp 1

Join us for an always popular DSP camp in which we learn how to build and program simple robots. This camp engages students in hands-on learning using both LEGO and VEX Robotics kits depending on the age group. (This camp is limited to 10 students per age bracket to maximize time on equipment and be fully interactive.)

This camp will be repeated later this summer.

June 8th-12th: Space Camp 1

Space camp is out of this world! Join us as we study the planets and stars. Enjoy time in the DSP Discovery Dome planetarium and get hands-on, building space-related items: from mission patches, to air-powered rockets, and more! Gravity and oxygen is included!

This camp will be repeated later this summer!

June 15th-19th: Chemical Engineering Camp 1

A two-fer! This camp combines the hands-on fun of building and tinkering from our Engineering camp with the “wow” of some cool and crazy chemistry from our Kitchen Chemistry camp. Build a Popsicle stick catapult, disassemble and investigate the innards of a VCR, mix up your own batch of homemade slime… Let’s do some science!

This camp will be repeated later this summer!

June 22nd-26th: 3D Printing/Minecraft Camp 1

A favorite here at the DSP- it’s like combining the awesomeness of LEGOs with the cool fun of an online game… and then turning your digital creation into reality! Join us as we enter the world of Minecraft where the only limit to what you can build is your imagination! Minecraft is a digital version of LEGO building blocks- but even more! Skilled builders can create everything from intricate cities to actual working calculators- using nothing but the digital blocks of this squared-off world. Students will be able to 3D print one of their designed objects to take home at the end of the week as well.

This camp will be repeated later this summer!
